Ayahuasca Retreats

A retreat at La Luna del Amazonas is more than a series of ceremonies. Our Facilities

Our center is built in the jungle, outside the small village of Santa María de Ojeal, with rainforest as your only surrounding. We are on the river and you can swim from the property.

Each guest stays in a private room with a private bathroom and shower. The maloka — our ceremony temple — is built from natural materials directly on the earth, for a true connection to the elements. Between ceremonies, you’ll find hammocks, a small library of psychedelic and spiritual literature, canoes for paddling on the river, and plenty of space to simply be still.

Food & Diet

During your retreat, all meals follow the traditional ayahuasca diet, with limited salt, sugar, and oils. This isn’t about restriction; it’s about opening the body to receive the medicine fully.

Our chef prepares fresh, locally sourced meals inspired by traditional Amazonian ingredients like yuca, plantains, and seasonal fruits. We accommodate vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free diets. After your retreat, our shamans will provide individual post-diet guidelines to help you continue integrating.

Before Your Retreat

Before you book, please read our medical guidelines carefully. Ayahuasca contains MAOIs which interact with certain medications, and participation is not recommended for some medical conditions.

We don’t require a strict diet before your retreat, but we encourage you to eat as healthily as possible. Stay away from pork for at least one week, and avoid alcohol and sexual activity for 48 hours before arrival. The cleaner you arrive, the less physical purging you’ll experience, and the sooner the medicine can work on a deeper level.

Book your flights to Iquitos (IQT). We pick up our guests downtown Iquitos on Monday at 11 AM and drop off on Sunday around noon, enough time to catch the 2 PM flight to Lima.

Integration

The retreat doesn’t end when you leave. The medicine continues to process for weeks, sometimes months, after your last ceremony. Integration is how you turn the insights and healing you received into lasting change in your daily life.

During your retreat, our shamans will share tools and individual post-diet guidelines to support your integration. After you return home, we can refer you to psychedelic integration therapists in most countries. You’re also welcome to join our online community to connect with others who have walked the same path.
